Where to stay in Paros with IKH Villas

February 4, 2023

LOCATION

The villa’s location is one of the most significant aspects of the property. It is located south/west on the premiere Krotiri hill (37.099228, 25.15179) overlooking the Parikia bay, with the island’s main village and port. The sea view is unparalleled both day and night. Vacationers enjoy spectacular romantic sunsets with the sun dipping into the water. It is particularly relaxing to observe the ferries and private boats moving in and out of the port; a sight particularly enhanced when the boats are lit at night. The amazing view to the Parikia village, Antiparos, Sifnos, and other nearby islands is another day/night vantage point of the property.

At the same time, the villa is only 2.8 km from the main village Parikia (about 10’ by car or an easy seaside 25’ walk), making it close to the village but far from noise and traffic. There are no nightclubs, construction projects, or other noise-producing activities nearby.

The property is surrounded by manicured gardens sporting indigenous Mediterranean plants. Of particular beauty are the colorful bougainvillea, fragrant roses, various succulents, a cacti garden as well as olive and palm trees.  There is also a small organic vegetable garden, a fig tree, and an array of aromatic herbs for vacationers to enjoy.

Proximity to beaches

Southwest facing, this is the side of the island to be on during the summer where strong Cycladic winds (Meltemi) are converted to gentle breezes. There are various nearby organized and non-organized beaches. The No.1 Trip Advisor rated Martselo Beach is 1.5 km away (5min by car/20 min on foot).  Other nearby beaches are Krios and Livada beaches at 1.0 km (5 min by car/ 15 min on foot). All are sandy, picturesque, with crystal clear water at a pleasant temperature, featuring bar/restaurants and umbrella/sun-bed rentals.  They offer excellent options for both families and people who want to spend a relaxing, and enjoyable time by the Aegean Sea, as well as those who are interested in a more party atmosphere.

VILLA IASONAS

A stand-alone two-story villa with 6 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and comfortably accommodates 12.  The ground floor is surrounded by spacious terraces and has sizeable living, kitchen, and dining areas, 1 bedroom with king bed and en-suite bath, and 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a shared bathroom.

The upper floor consists of an exceptionally large king-size bedroom with an en-suite bath, walk-in closet, and spacious semi-private outdoor veranda sitting area. The other bedroom on this floor has a king bed, which can convert to 2 twin beds, an en-suite bath, and also has a large semi-private veranda.  All bedrooms are spacious, with distressed oak floors, ample closet space, and most have vanity/workspace.

There is a 6thbedroom which is separated from the main house by a breezeway. This room has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom.

The majority of windows throughout the house take in spectacular sea views. The house also has a butler’s pantry, laundry room, and garage.

The sizable outdoors features a large infinity swimming pool, spacious lounge, and alfresco dining area. There is also an outdoor BBQ, wood-burning oven, pool shower, and covered parking space. Manicured Mediterranean gardens with blossoming bougainvillea, fragrant roses, succulents, and olive trees surround the property. Large pergolas on the ground and upper floors provide full shade throughout the day.

The access road to the villa is asphalt/cement.

Key architectural design elements

Featured in a number of interior design magazines, the home and outdoor space offer unrivaled tranquility and beauty. Inside and out, the building’s soft, calm, undulating lines give the appearance of a sculpture combining traditional Cycladic style with modern architecture elements.  Recessed floor lighting both indoors and out, enhance the serenity. The interior features high (3m/10ft) ceilings, large sea-view windows, polished cement, and distressed wood floors.  Livable, stylish custom-made furniture is featured throughout the Villa.

The property is very ergonomic and large enough to host 12 people without feeling crowded. Alfresco and formal dining and sitting areas easily seat 14.  It is durably built and child friendly. Positioning of the property provides a spectacular south/west 180’ sea view, with Parikia bay in the center, and is well protected from the typically strong summer Meltemi wind.

It is a 410m2 villa sitting on a two-acre plot. Alexander Logodotis is the architect. The villa was built in 2002 with top-quality materials and proper insulation. Renovation and upkeep have been continual. It features a large water reservoir that supplements the public water supply system when/if needed.
