Lech Zürs
Black, red, blue slopes, with humps or as smooth as billiards, served by modern ski lifts. In places of great charm, where there are also excellent ski schools. And other activities in the snow, such as cross-country skiing rings, snow parks, hiking trails even in winter. Skiing in Austria is all of this. Here are the most popular destinations.
Salzburger Land
Saalbach is a popular winter sports resort in the westernmost part of the Salzburger Land, in the Glemmertal. Always around the Ski World Cup, with the nearby Hinterglemm it offers a rich hotel accommodation. The resorts are at the center of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, a carousel with 270 km of slopes, 4 snow parks, 5 free ride natural parks, 5 toboggan runs, 60 mountain huts. And that from the 2019/2020 season joins with a comfortable bus and a single ski pass to another large ski area, that of Zell am See, totaling over 400 kilometers of descents.

The ski slopes of Zell am See-Kaprun start at 700 meters in the village and go up to 3,000 on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, for a total of 138 km. Which go up to 400 km considering the slopes of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, easily reachable with a single ski pass. The area on Mount Maiskogel is suitable for families with even small children. On the Kitzsteinhorn glacier you can ski 10 months a year and have fun with the board in the Kitzsteinhorn Snowpark, with 4 different parks for different levels of difficulty and a superpipe 160 meters long and 6.6 meters high. Another gem of the Kitzsteinhorn is the breathtaking panorama, which can be enjoyed from the Top of Salzburg terrace. Cross-country skiers have at their disposal 100 km of slopes between various nearby locations or the 200 km of the Pinzga-Loipe network of tracks. There are also numerous tracks for ski touring enthusiasts.

Among the peaks of the High Tauern, wellness tourism has a history that goes back to the sixteenth century, thanks to the beneficial thermal waters. But today people also come to Austria to ski and do winter sports. In the Gastein valley there are four ski areas, with 205 kilometers of slopes for all levels of ability, from off-piste to moguls, from black to easy for families. We are in the heart of Ski Amadé, the large carousel that offers 760 kilometers of slopes and 270 lifts, with Grossarl, Hochkönig, the Salzburg Sports World. In the Gastein valley you can choose between the areas Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel, between the resorts of Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein, and Dorfgastein-Grossarl. Or the difficult descents of Graukogel, where the world ski championships were held, and Sportgastein, which reaches 2,700 meters with many off-piste routes. There are 7 tracks dedicated to cross-country skiing for a total of 35 km.
